2xIndie - Video of the Day

December 19th, 2006

I love indie films. I love them even more when they are much different then most. Today, I give you two videos, that I have liked for quite some time, but have been selfish with them until now.

This first video was made in August 1978, by French film maker, Claude Lelouch. The idea is very simple: get a gyro-stabilized camera, mount it on the bumper of a Ferrari 275, then get a Formula 1 driver to driver through Paris. No permit to shoot was obtained. No streets were closed. The red lights, are real red lights. The other cars, those are real, too. And holy shit, the pedestrians are very lucky.
Rendezvous

This second video may have a few people you’ve heard of. John Woo wrote and directed it. Clive Owen, Maury Chaykin and Kathryn Morris star in it. This was before ANY of them made it anywhere. This was shot for a film contest, sponsored by BMW. It’s only requirement, to showcase the BMW Z4.
